| | IT IS DONE! It is done. It has been a long and winding road since we first set foot in Uldar followed by a lot of oooooo and aaaaaa when we saw the bosses for the first time. After a while the first fragment of Val'anyr dropped and it went to Bustie without much contention. One by one the fragments came trickling in and finally we were ready for the last stage - dinner with Yogg and only 3 keepers.
It proved to be a challenge. It really shouldnt be but Ulduar had long lost its lure and maybe that tune was playing in the back of our heads when we wiped again and again on Yogg. But we kept coming back. And that is a testament to the will of the guild that so many wanted to put this joint effort before the new and more tempting instances.
Finally we butted heads with Yogg last night (its not really much else we can butt against) and killed the ugly pile of teeth and muccus. Not without a scare though. At 5% a certain DK decided to pop Army of the Dead (_the_ most hated spell for any tank) and the adds promptly went all over the place. Heads were still cool and focused nuking took the head down the last few percentages.
Then Bustie couldnt find the mace.
I bet this was a nasty scheme deviced by Blizz to scare the beejeeezes out of people, the mace drop didnt spawn until the rest of the loot was picked up. But it was there :) Getting the mace from Brann was surprisingly uneventful...
And now we will move onto greener pastures (mostly due to the slime and goo coming from Festergut, Rotface and freinds). This marks the end of offical Ulduar raids, focus will be ICC sprinkled ToC. It also marks the end of Busties poetry, for the full history you need to consult our General section. For your convenience, here is the last installment. Please note the promise at the end.
By the way...the mace is _way_ cool :D

| | ICC first wing cleared In our first real attempt on Saurfang we worked our way through the mess of blood and got the kill. Very nicely done! This means we have cleared the first wing of Icecrown Citadel and are ready for the next wing which opens...on Wednesday. Nice timing! |

Miscellanous news Shadowmourne
Interested in it? Make sure you check the thread in the General forum. After completing Bustie's Mace, this will be the next big guild target. Which brings us nicely too...
Ulduar runs
Tired of Ulduar? Still wonder why we do it now? In that case you deserve a swift knock on the noggin.
At the moment Bustie has 28 fragments of Val'Anyr. At 30 fragments he will be able to forge the legendary Bustie's Mace (Blizz calls it something differently but the name change is coming, I tell you!). This has been a solid guild effort and we are not going to stop so close.
For those that still cant be bothered I suggest you check out the recruitment questions, especially no. 6.
Icecrown patterns
Icecrown patterns have to be bough using Primordial Saronite which can be bought using Frost emblems or may also drop from bosses. If you consider buying a ICC pattern make sure you align your effort with the rest of the guild, expect a post by Deadlyblonde in a forum near you soon.

| | Reply code alpha sent Under lotsa cheers of a big audience the horde managed to save the world by besting the last formidable foe in ulduar: Algalon the Observer.
Every minute from that illusive 1 hour access on Algalon was squeezed. And in the 4th week it all clicked. Dps was so high that the last 20% became even tricky due to unexpected big bangs. But several very slow seconds later the fast hitting truck yielded at last.
Wear that title with pride Starcallers!

| | A heroic dead beetle At least thats what he looks like...
After literally 2 hours endless wiping this heroic band of adventures was beginning to tire. It was an effort to lift sword or wand or 2H weapon (wink). We lost a priest by the wayside, taken by the sandman. A humble fast food seller happened to be passing and we grabbed him - the idea was feed him to Anub and 'bummmm him lads!!!'
The result - 24 remaining attempts - so close to the first tribute reward. |

Fragment of the Day Ulduar may not have the sexy appeal it had at its opening but we still have some unfinished business there. We have the Hardmodes to finish (which we keep trying on random occasions) and last but certainly not least : Valanyr - The Legendary Gavel of the Ancient Kings.
Bustie now "only" has a single digit number of fragments left before he can forge the hammer, and in the mean time he will threa...errr....treat us with regular poetry in an effort to motivate the Keepers to drop more. Visit the thread in General!
There was a young man from Buckie,
Who give a Fragment of Val'anyr to Bustie
Bustie wanted some more
so went to the door
and threatened the keepers of Ulduar with more poetry!
And we are off!! |

| | A dead beetle At least thats what he looks like, our latest ex-nemesis Anub'arak. A typical Incubus fight where we made small adjustments and improved slowly from fight to fight. So now we are ready for the Heroic Coliseum, may the WoW Gods have mercy in our souls...;) |

| | Yogg down, finally! Yogg succumbed, balance is restored in the Universe and Ice can finally have "quality time" with his girlfriend again!
And it was about time. We have been close on several attempts (2% wipe anyone?) and we knew we could do it. Blizzard tried to stop us by messing with the login servers but to no avail. Yogg went down like a sack of something really ugly! Which he incidently is.
Grats to everyone involved, also those that have paved the way with countless wipes but unfortunately could not join us on the night. |
